2 Arrested During a Domestic Incident:

 

Two people have been arrested following an incident in the Town of Corning.  33-year-old Steven Northrup of Painted Post is accused of violating the terms and conditions of a stay away order of protection issued due to a previous domestic incident.  He has been charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and was sent to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.  Also arrested was 33-year-old Andrew Vanzile of Corning on a charge of criminal mischief in the third.  Vanzile allegedly intentionally damaged the property of another by throwing a hammer through a window of the vehicle operated by Northrup.  Vanzile was released on an appearance ticket.

 

 

Bath Woman Arrested for Damaging Hotel:

 

A Bath woman has been arrested for causing damage to a hotel room she stayed in.  41-year-old Jacqueline Zeringue has been charged with criminal mischief in the third for allegedly intentionally damaging property at a hotel on South Hamilton Street in the Town of Erwin.  She was sent to the Steuben County Jail with $1,000 cash bail.

 

 

P.A. Fugitive Arrested:

 

The New York State Police of Bath arrested 26-year-old Dylan Connors of Pennsylvania as a fugitive from justice.  The arrest was based on information from the Bath Veteran’s Administration Police Department indicating that Connors was wanted in Pennsylvania.  Further investigation revealed there to be an active arrest warrant for a parole violation that was issued out of Monroe County, Pennsylvania.  Connors was sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail as he awaits further proceedings in Steuben County Court.

 

 

Bath P.D. Investigating Fake Money:

 

Bath village police are investigating a surge of fake money flowing into the community. Five Star Bank has reported receiving several counterfeit bills of all denominations from local businesses. Police urge people to examine your money carefully and report suspicious activity immediately.

 

 

DeFranciso Files to Run for NY Governor:

 

State Senator John DeFrancisco made it official Monday.  He filed paperwork with the State Board of Elections to run for Governor.  More details are expected during a formal announcement set for today at 5 p.m.   DeFrancisco joins Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb and former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra in vying for the Republican nomination.  According to state Republican Party Chairman Ed Cox, the candidates have all agreed not to challenge one another in a primary. 

 

 

Von Hagn Earns Rep.& Dem. Noms. for Bath:

 

The Bath Village Republicans and Democrats held their caucuses Monday night.  Only one position is up for election this March, Village Mayor.  Last night both the Republicans and Democrats endorsed incumbent Mayor Bill Von Hagn for the position.
